Catch Spring Fever

Spring is here and for those looking to get out into the country and get some fresh air (the only surefire cure for cabin fever) here’s our version of a trail guide for Stash partner hotels that cater to the outdoorsy.

Tailwater Lodge | Altmar, NY

Think of that 90’s Brad Pitt movie, A River Runs Through it… Tailwater Lodge is right on the Salmon River, offering some of the best fishing in the world. The Lodge has 2000 ft. of reserved river frontage including the famous Schoolhouse Pool. Every detail has been thought through to make sure all your activities unfold smoothly, from a dedicated Guide Concierge to the complimentary hot breakfast served early, so you can get out on the river for prime morning fishing hours.

The Lark is the perfect basecamp for a unique Montana adventure. The “Crown Jewel” of the American National Park System, Yellowstone, is the backdrop for the town of Bozeman.  But there’s plenty of hiking, fishing, biking, canoeing, and dinosaur fossil hunting off the beaten path in this corner of Big Sky country. And they’ve got guides to add that local authenticity for whatever you’re into.

norwich-inn-exterior-night_cThe Norwich Inn | Norwich, VT

A historic New England country inn, lovingly restored — complete with rocking chairs on the veranda and a cupola.  Step right off the veranda and onto a stretch of the Appalachian Trail or dip a kayak or canoe into the mighty Connecticut River.

Honey Creek Resort State Park | Moravia, Iowa

Set on the shores of Rathbun Lake and surrounded by woodlands and rolling prairie, Honey Creek Resort State Park offers wilderness adventure with the comfort you need on a family vacation. Spend the day hiking, fishing, playing golf or kayaking, then settle in for locally-sourced cuisine with lake views at Rathbun Lakeshore Grille.

Spectacular mountain views and a convenient Ketchum downtown location offer inspiration — whether you’re there to explore the great outdoors or just to relax.  The Sun Valley area boasts nearly one million acres of surrounding forests and National Recreation Areas. From fly-fishing in famous Silver Creek to hiking through fields of wildflowers on Bald Mountain or exploring the 30 miles of paved bike trails, there’s something for everybody.  Other activities include white water rafting, horseback riding (giddy-up!), golf (fore!), sport shooting (pull!), and paragliding (@#$%*!).

Poised at the doorstep of the Lost Sierra’s unspoiled wilds, Chalet View Lodge balances timeless alpine architecture with posh cabin couture.  And recreation opportunities abound: 9-hole golf course, bocce ball court, horse shoe pit, beach volleyball, swimming pool and spa, catch-and-release fishing pond, 350 ft. zip line, and loads of hiking trails. And if this litany isn’t enough, off-site activities include mountain biking, ATV rentals, and dirt biking.

The all-inclusive Movara Fitness Resort welcomes you to a week long (or longer) commitment to spectacular scenery, nutrient dense delicious meals, expert-led fitness classes, and health education to take home when you go — but really, you’re not going to want to leave.  And then there’s the hikes.
